Calhoun County ISD campuses have scheduled safety drills this fall to practice lock-down procedures and securing entries. The drills will not involve loud noises or a simulation of any type of intruder or shooting. Some campuses may take the opportunity to test their electronic parent notification system, such as School Messenger, but that notification will be clear that it is just a test for a drill.
We are sharing the following drill schedule with parents, so we can ensure our students understand that the scheduled safety drill is just for practice so that everyone is better prepared in the case of a real emergency.
Calhoun High School - 10/26/23 @ 9 a.m.
HJM Elementary -11/10/23 @ 9:15 a.m.
Hope/DAEP - 10/24/23
JR Elementary - 10/26/23 @ 8:45 a.m.
POC School - 10/27/23 @ 8:45 a.m.
