Communications and Notifications

Calhoun County ISD uses a variety of platforms to communicate with parents.

1) District-level emergency notifications (such as school closures) are sent via the School Messenger system. Emergency notifications are sent as phone calls, SMS text messages, and/or emails to the emergency contacts on file with the district. Parents must opt-in to receive the SMS text messages by texting the letter "Y" to the number 67587.

.

2) News and information is also posted regularly on www.calcoisd.org. The  space on the middle, left of the homepage is dedicated to the most recent news. The website also hosts public health notifications, required documents/postings, and contact information for teachers and staff.

3) Calhoun County ISD and all seven campuses have Facebook pages designed to share important information with families. We also love to showcase our amazing children and staff on our Facebook pages as well.

4) Many teachers and extracurricular sponsors utilize Remind and/or Google Classroom to communicate with students and parents. Remind and Google Classroom codes are provided directly to parents and/or students as appropriate.

5) Campuses also use School Messenger to send school-level notifications/newsletters/etc. to the parent contacts on file with the school. Opt-in is required for SMS text messaging. See instructions above. It's important to provide your current contact information to your school annually, or as changed/updated.

6) Many schools, particularly elementary schools, send paper flyers and information home with students, as necessary.
