As we head into the Easter break, we want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support this semester. Our students and staff have been working hard, and we are excited to finish strong as we move into our first round of STAAR testing next week.

Important Dates

• April 3 & April 6 – Student & Staff Holiday (Easter Break)

• April 9 – 7th & 8th Grade RLA STAAR

• April 14 – 6th Grade RLA STAAR

• April 15 – 8th Grade Science STAAR

• April 22 – 8th Grade U.S. History STAAR

• April 28 – 7th, 8th & Algebra I Math STAAR

• April 29 – 6th Grade Math STAAR

STAAR Testing Reminder

Our first STAAR test begins next week, and we are asking for your support in helping students be prepared:

• Ensure students get a good night’s sleep

• Encourage them to arrive on time

• Make sure Chromebooks are charged and ready

• Reinforce a positive mindset—confidence matters!

We have been working hard in class to prepare, and we are confident in our students’ growth. This is their opportunity to show what they know!

Instructional Focus

In these final days leading into testing, teachers are:

• Reviewing key skills and standards

• Practicing written responses

• Building student confidence and stamina

We are encouraging students to stay focused, give their best effort, and handle challenges with confidence.

Reminders

• Students should bring their Chromebook daily, fully charged

• Attendance continues to be a priority—our goal is 95% or higher

• Cellphones are expected to be off and in backpacks. They will be confiscated if expectations are not met. 

As we head into the break and return to the final stretch and testing season, we are reminding students:

We don’t wait for things to get easier… we get better.
