Metal detector policy for stadium and events

Posted Date: 8/29/25 (10:54 AM)

Dear Calhoun County ISD family,

As part of the district's ongoing commitment to providing a safe and secure environment for all students, staff, families, and visitors, walk-through metal detectors will be used at the entrances of select special events held at district facilities, including but not limited to athletic events, performances, and ceremonies.

Guests attending these events will be asked to follow the directions of security screening personnel. Large metal items—such as phones, keys, cameras, and permitted seat cushions—should be placed in designated containers on the screening tables before walking through the metal detectors. Guests will not be required to remove belts, watches, wallets, jewelry, shoes, jackets, coins, or other small personal items.

The 2025 Sandcrab Stadium plan/letter that was previously posted has been updated to include the metal detector policy. We've also created graphics for quick reference.
All of this information attached is also saved in a folder on our website for easy reference and sharing with visitors.
