Child Nutrition charge policy
Posted on 10/27/2022
Calhoun County ISD Child Nutrition has provided the following guidance regarding the process for charging school meals:

Charge Policy:
Students will be allowed to charge reimbursable meals up to $12.50. Students are not allowed to charge snack items or a-la-carte items, only reimbursable meals. Once the maximum amount of $12.50 has been reached, an alternative low-cost reimbursable meal will be provided until the students’ account becomes current. This low-cost reimbursable meal is composed of a ham and cheese sandwich on whole grain bread, a choice of vegetable, a choice of fruit, and a choice of milk. Students will be notified each time they charge, in an attempt to avoid overdrawn accounts. Negative balance letters, created by TITAN, will also be sent out to parents weekly. If you feel your child may qualify for the free/reduced meal program, you can complete an online application at https://family.titank12.com/, or by requesting a paper application at your child’s school campus.

Employees can charge up to $20.00 on their account, however, all balances need to be paid in full by the end of April. Visitors are not allowed to charge items.

Prepayment/Payment of Meals:
Titan Family Portal can be used to apply funds to student accounts. A $2.60 fee applies for online payments. An account can be created at https://family.titank12.com/ . Cash and checks are also accepted at each school office and school cafeteria, during business hours.

Titan Family Portal accounts have several unique features. You can create daily spending limits, receive low balance notifications, transfer funds between accounts, view transaction history, and set up recurring payment plans.

Please contact the Child Nutrition Department at 361-552-5356, for any assistance.
