Background

Calhoun County has five major industrial complexes within its boundaries. This unique situation provides an opportunity to the public school system for supplementary human resource and financial assistance. In addition, considerable resource potential is available from other smaller businesses and community member support. Partners in Education is an organization intended to a handclasp between business, the community, and the school system. P.I.E. was originally formed in 1992.

The Steering Committee also monitors various measurements to assure that the school process produces continual sustainable quality improvement. Finally, this group serves as a focal point in matching special requests of school campuses to the various partners.
