Opt in for important text notifications from CCISD
Posted on 08/09/2023
Here's a 'back to school' reminder that Calhoun County ISD uses a system called "School Messenger" to send important information and emergency notifications. Our contact list is pulled from the parent/guardian phone numbers and email addresses that are provided on the 'back to school' forms.
Please note that CCISD has the ability to send text notifications, but parents MUST OPT-IN in order to receive the texts.
Now, you only have to do this once, so if you have already signed up within the past few years with your same phone number, you are good to go. Only new parent/guardian contact phone numbers being enrolled into our student data system this school year need to opt-in. So if you have changed phone numbers recently, you will opt-in from whatever current cell phone number that you will be providing your child's school as an emergency contact for you. If you aren't sure whether you have opted in or not, go ahead and do it -- there is no harm in opting in multiple times.
Here are instructions for how to opt-in to receive the SMS text messages by texting the letter "Y" to the number 67587
Please reach out to your child's school if you have any questions or would like to update contact info.
