In recent years, Calhoun County ISD Child Nutrition has been able to offer school lunch free of charge to ALL students (regardless of eligibility), due to state and federal waivers that were approved to provide relief to areas impacted by Hurricane Harvey in 2017, and then again in 2020 related to the COVID pandemic.
However, those waivers have now expired and are no longer available for the 2022-2023 school year.
As such, Calhoun County ISD will need to return to charging for school lunches and/or offer free and reduced lunches based on student eligibility.
Lunch prices will be posted later this month, but this is just an fyi about the transition for now.
