Notification of confirmed COVID-19 case at JR & CHS

In keeping with district practices to respond to COVID-19, we are notifying all students, staff and guests that one JR Elementary student has tested positive for COVID-19. The student was last on campus May 13th. Also, two Calhoun High School students have tested positive for COVID-19. Both were on campus last week. Maintenance has sanitized and E-misted the buildings.

All impacted students and staff will be contacted by the nurse or campus administrators.

All students and staff have access to free testing by appointment. For more information, please see the district website at www.calcoisd.org.

Feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit


Cough, or Difficulty breathing or, Shortness of breath


Chills or shaking or exaggerated shivering

Diarrhea, or Vomiting, or Abdominal pain

Loss of taste or smell

Significant muscle pain or ache

Congestion or runny nose, or sore throat

Please carefully monitor for COVID symptoms and stay at home when symptoms emerge.

All CCISD students and staff will wear masks, wash hands and socially distance as much as possible. Teachers in quarantine will maintain a Google classroom and remote into the class as they are able. Students who are remote learning must log in every day to be counted as present and productive.
