Additional info. about full-day Pre-K program, including tuition rate for 2019-20 (for those who do not qualify for state-funded program)
.

Calhoun County ISD recently-announced plans to expand its Pre-Kindergarten program to a full day format to better serve early childhood learners for long-term academic success. The district’s decision to expand its previously-offered half day format to a full day format aligns with legislation recently-approved to fund full day Pre-K programs for low-income or other qualifying students.

Students who do not qualify for the state-funded service may still enroll for CCISD’s full day Pre-K program. Tuition will apply for those students. A tuition rate of $50 per week, or $200 per month, has been approved for the 2019-2020 school year. For a nine-month school year, that’s $1800 per year.

Calhoun County ISD is asking families to register, or confirm their previous registration, for full day Pre-K during the 2019-2020 school year, so that staff and resources are planned for and available.

Registration and eligibility:

  1. Families who previously registered for CCISD Pre-K earlier this year should make contact with the campus they registered with to confirm or decline their participation in the full day program.
  2. Families who did not register for CCISD Pre-K earlier this year, but who now are interested in signing up for the full day program, may visit their campus or the CCISD District Office to register.
  3. Students who qualify under the Texas Education Agency’s guidelines are eligible for the state-funded service at no additional charge. Eligibility requirements are posted on the Texas Education Agency’s website:  https://tea.texas.gov/ece/eligibility.aspx
  4. Students who do not qualify for the state-funded service may still enroll for CCISD’s full day Pre-K program. Tuition will apply.

For more information about Calhoun County ISD’s transition to a full day Pre-K program, registration, student eligibility or tuition, please contact any elementary campus across the district.

Students enrolled in CCISD’s Pre-K program are eligible for the typical district offerings, including bus transportation and school meals. A special provision to provide school meals free of charge to all students during the 2019-2020 was recently-announced: http://www.calcoisd.org/district_news/what_s_new/free_school_meals_in_2019-2020
