The 7th grade Lady Fiddlers basketball teams opened their season on Monday night against Cade in Victoria. The 7th B won 25-13. Results of the game were: Sara Ybarbo 15 pts, McKayla Cortez and Auria Riser 4 pts each and Ruby Villarreal 2 pts. Sara led in free throws with 3 and was also top in steals with 10, followed by McKayla and Kaysen Vickery with 9 each. McKayla also led in forced turnovers and Sara was top rebounder with 7 followed by Kaysen with 6.
The 7th A Team also won 59-4. Results were: Abby Hroch 18 pts, Alexis Alvarado 16 pts, Martina Stavinoha 15 pts, Genesis Villarreal 6 pts, and Alex Iglesias 4 pts. Genesis had the most steals with 6 followed by Alex and Martina with 5 each. Skyla Calzada, Genesis and Alexis had 3 forced turnovers each, and Abby led in rebounds with 9 as well as 2 blocked shots.
It’s a great way to start the season. Congratulations! They will play again after Thanksgiving on Thursday.
The Lady Fiddlers 8th grade B team won their season opener against the Lady Bulldogs of Cade. Alejandra Villalon had 11 steals, 3 rebounds and 9 points; Miranda Smith had 4 steals, 1 rebound and 3 points; Jessica Vega had 8 steals and 5 points; Savannah Cantu had 2 steals and 2 points; Robyn Stringo had 1 reboung; Hales Morales had 2 steals, 2 rebounds, and 8 points; Katrina Escobar had 6 rebounds and 4 points; Melissa Rodriguez had 3 rebounds. Way to start off the season ladies!
The Lady Fiddler 8th grade A team opened their season Monday with a win beating Cade. Representing the A team was: Orianna Cantu; Brandy Escobar, Ayshay Gonzales, Jackie Brumfield, Kelsey Tidrick, Haley Herrera, Jessamy Tomlinson, Miranda Moya, Tishona White, and Lexi Kurtz. With an explosive 1st quarter, the Lady Fiddlers put up 25 points in the first half, Haley Herrera contributed a 3. Jessamy Tomlinson was 2 for 2 in free-throws and Miranda Moya had 10 steals; Jackie Brumfield had 7 steals. Underneath, Jessamy Tomlinson, Tishona White and Lexi Kurtz had 4 rebounds each. The Lady Fiddlers finished the game with 40, Cade fell with 13 points. The Lady Fiddlers will playin the Howell tournament on Dec 2 and 3. Congrats on your season opener!
