Last week the Lady Fiddlers hosted their annual Volleyball tournament. Each Bracket had 6 teams participating. In the 7th Grade division, the Ladies played against Stroman on Thursday and won in 2 games 25-8, 25-8. Then on Saturday they played their first game against Faith Academy and won in 2 games 25-5, 25-8. This win took them to the finals against Cade. They won this match in 2 games also 25-15, 25-20 to capture 1st place in the tournament. Results of the tournament were: Abby Hroch 30 pts, Martina Stavinoha 22 pts, Genesis Villarreal 19 pts, Ashlyn Beard 14 pts, Alex Iglesias 10 pts, Savannah Woodward 8 pts, Dee Dee Ebans 3 pts, and Kaysen Vickery 2 pts. Abby had the most spikes wit 11 followed by Martina with 8 and Alex with 6. Ashlyn had the most sets with 23. To see pictures of the 7th grade girls click here.
The 8th grade played against Howell on Thursday and won in 2 games 25-18, 25-17. On Saturday they played against Patti Welder for their first gane and won 25-22, 25-16. This win took them to the finals against Cade. This was the 3rd time they have played Cade each time they played better. It went to 3 games but lost out in the end 15-25, 26-24, 16-25. They ended up in 2nd place in the tournament. Rsults of the tournament were: Alexis Cruz 22 pts, Janish Orta 13 pts, Elaina Cuellar 12 pts, Kara Pfeil and Bailee Dorsey 10 pts, Lexi Kurtz 5 pts, Jackie Brumfield 3 pts, Alejandra Villalon 2 pts, Robyn Stringo and Leanna Gottschalt 1 pt each. Lexi had the most spikes with 14 followed by Kara with 13 and Robyn with 10. Lexi had 5 blocks in the tournament. Elaina had the most sets with 48 followed by Jackie with 32.
