Some missed blocks and tackles for a loss would end the drive and time ran out on the Fiddlers with the final score 20-22.

7th Grade Black vs. Cade Report

Another week of football for the Travis Fiddlers and another great football game. The black team kept a zero in the loss column but did come away with a tie last night. A great defensive battle was in store, and the final score was 6-6. The offense moved the ball pretty good all night but couldn’t seem to get it in the end zone until the closing seconds of the game. Great efforts by the offensive line allowed the Fiddlers to advance the ball often, but penalties would end up stalling drives. The defense kept pressure on Cade all night and played great. On a night when things weren’t going smooth, defense stayed strong and kept us in the game. Play after play, the defense kept making stops when we needed it.

Offensive Standouts: Isaiah Falcon – 25 yard TD run (0:11 left in the game) Casey Dean; Offensive line

Defensive Standouts: Dylan Byrd – 15 yard sack Seth Flores – 4th down stop; Caleb Cude – Interception, Fumble recovery

Travis 7th Gold vs Cade 10-4-2011

The Travis Fiddlers Gold team came away with a hard-fought win in Victoria Tuesday at Memorial Stadium, defeating the Cade Bulldogs 20-6. The win improved Travis to 3-1 on the season. The Fiddlers got off to a quick start in the first quarter on a 60 yard touchdown run by Christian Baldera. Gabe Ramirez punched in the 2 pt conversion making the score 8-0. The Cade offense quickly answered and halfway through the first quarter the score was 8-6 Travis. The Fiddlers offense moved the ball at will all night and did a good job of executing, and staying with their blocks. At the end of the first Baldera took a sweep and raced outside for a 46 yard touchdown run, his second of the evening. The game was back and forth in the 2nd before Dallas Trevino intercepted a Cade pass, halting their drive and making the score 14-6 Fiddlers at the break. The Fiddlers received the ball to start the 3rd and wasted little time before Baldera and the other Travis backs broke off some impressive runs. The defense held again, led by strong secondary play all night. In the 4th quarter, Javi Pena picked off a Cade pass and returned it for the 3rd Fiddler score of the night, quickly ending whatever momentum Cade had going. The offense controlled the clock all night, and defense did a good job of defending a very strong Cade offense. The game was sealed at the end of the game when JR Walling recovered a Cade fumble deep in their territory, allowing the offense to take a knee and end the game with a 20-6 victory. We are very proud of all our guys tonight, Cade was definitely the best team we’ve played all year and to see the guys step up and compete was fun to be a part of. The offense we faced was something we hadn’t seen all year, but the kids accepted the challenge and took care of business. We cant wait to play Howell next week at our place. Offensive standouts: Christian Baldera, Dallas Trevino, Matt Alvarado, Seth Zapata. Defensive standouts: The entire defense played great tonight.
