The 7th Grade A team traveled to Victoria to open the season against Cade Middle School. It was a close match, but they fell short in three games, 21-25; 26-24; 10-25. Results of the match were: Ashlyn Beard 14 pts, Savannah Woodward 4 pts, Alex Iglesias and Kaysen Vickery 3 pts each, Martina Stavanoha and McKayla Cortez 1 pt each. Abby Hroch was top passing followed by Savannah and Dee Dee Evans. Kaysen was top setter and Alex had the most spikes.
The 8th Grade A team hosted Cade for their season opener. They had a tough time in this match losing in two games 6-25; 7-25. Results of the match were: Janiah Orta scored the most points, Lexi Kurtz was top passer, and Elaina Cuellar top setter and Bailee Dorsey had the most spikes in the match. The B teams travel to Seadrift next week and the A teams are off.
The Lady Fiddlers' 7th grade B team took on the Lady Bulldogs of Cade Middle School for their season opener. What started out as a rough first game would only result in an upset for the Lady Bulldogs. After losing the first game of the match 19-25, the Lady Fiddlers fought back hard to capture a victory winning the second game 25-18, and the third game 26-24. Each one of the young ladies played hard and never gave up; especially when it came down to the last few points of the final game. Representing the 7th grade N team this year is: Sarah Tomlinson, Bayley Neuman, Savannah Trevino, Faith Tompkins, Ali Kalisek, Jocelyne Solis, Kara Dierschke, Meghan Wehmeyer, Alexis Ybarra, and Arriana Cruz. Our managers for the season are Madison Willoughby, Bar Htoo, and Hser Hah. It is going to be a great season and we hope you can make it out to support your Lady Fiddlers!! Go Lady Fiddlers!!
The Lady Fiddler 8th Grade B Team hosted their opening game against Cade Middle School. The B team battled in three games to defeat the Lady Bulldogs 25-22; 21-25; and 25-20. Representing the B team was Leena Morales, Brandy Escobar, Peyton Rudellat, Jessamy Tomlinson, Abby McFall, Haley Herrera, Jackie Brumfield, Miranda Moya, Faith Fojt, Hailey Harper and Gabby Bonuz. The B team's great serving gave them a lead in Game 1 and pulled them through in game 3 for the win. Outstanding hustle and teamwork by all the girls. Great way to start the season! Congrats!
