The 7th grade B team traveled to El Campo on Tuesday to take on the Ricebirds. It was hard fought effort on both sides of the ball but ultimately the fiddlers suffered their first loss of the season, 19-12. The fiddlers were led by Dekyn Garcia who scored a 33 yard touchdown on a reverse and also returned a kickoff 52 yards to claim both fiddler touchdowns. Defensively the fiddlers were led by the efforts of Devin Podsim and Adrian Canchola who both had good tackles and tackles for loss. Fortunately the loss does not count against their district record and the fiddlers can still claim the district championship with a win over Cade in their season finalenext Tuesday at Sandcrab stadium.
The 8th grade B team hosted the Seadrift Pirates at Sandcrab Stadium on Tuesday evening. Offensively, the Fiddlers started out fast with excellent running by RB Chris Torres, QB Gunner Moore, and RB Logan Evans. QB Gunner Moore would find TE Marshall Arlitt open on a catch that would result in a 40 yard gain and put the offense at the Seadrift 20 yard line. The Fiddler offense would be stalled however, and fail to convert the opening drive for a score. The game ended up a defensive struggle for the rest of the game with neither team being able to convert any drives into scores. Defensively, the Fiddler standouts included OLB Sebastian Rios with a pair of Sacks and DL Mitchell Arlitt, DL Craig Lopez, and DL Miguel Valadez all with Tackles for a Loss. A BIG defensive stand in the 4th quarter by the Fiddlers with the game still at 0-0, allowed the Fiddlers offense to get a game winning drive going with long runs by RB Larry Johnson and QB Logan Evans. The Fiddler offense just came up short however, as the time ran out on the Fiddlers before they could punch it in for the win. The final was a 0-0 Tie against Seadrift. The Fiddlers are now 3-3 on the season and 3-1 in district play and will come out next week as they look for their 4th win on the year against Cade in a season ending rematch at Sandcrab Stadiumnext Tuesday at 6:00. It is the last game of the season for the boys and last as a Fiddler before they will move on to their high school careers so come on out and support our Fiddler boys!

8th grade A Team
The 8th grade A team visited Cade at Pattie Welder Stadium on Tuesday evening. Offensively, the Fiddlers started out fast and drove 80 yards on their opening drive capped off with a 15 yard TD run by QB Andrew Ybarra to tie the game 8-8. The Fiddler Defense struggled in the first quarter and allowed another TD to Cade to make it 16-8 before the half. However, thanks to the outstanding OL run blocking efforts led by Leo Madera, David Fernandez, Thomas Chavez, Noah Lento, and Brandon Caldera, the Fiddler Offense had no trouble driving the field from deep in their own territory and would score on a 50 yard reverse play by RB Sergio Zavala to tie it 16-16 at half. The start of the second half saw the Fiddlers Offense continue to roll as they put together a 70 yard scoring drive capped off on a 20 yard TD run by QB Andrew Ybarra to make it 22-16 in the 3rd quarter. Good physical and tough running by RB Chris Benavides, RB Sean Jackson, and RB James Grantland also contributed to the physical rushing attack the Fiddlers imposed the rest of the night. After a rough first quarter for the Fiddler Defense, they settled down and played good physical football the rest of the night, not allowing Cade a single point in the second half. Defensive standouts included LB Jose Mendoza and OLB Xavier Luna with key fumble recoveries, OLB James Grantland and OLB Reed Cantu with big tackles for a loss, and LB Sean Jackson contributing to numerous tackles all night. The Fiddler Offense put one more score in the end zone with a 3 yard TD run by RB Sean Jackson in the 4th quarter and that kept Cade from making any comeback as the Fiddlers would go on to win a hard fought battle 28-16. The Fiddlers are now 2-3 on the season and 2-2 in district play and will play next week on the road at Cuero in a rematch of the season opener. The game will be on Thursday October 30th and played directly after the Travis 7th grade A&B Teams play, the kickoff expected to be around7:30. Come out early and support our Fiddler boys!
8th grade B Team
The 8th grade B team visited Cade at Pattie Welder Stadiumon Tuesday evening. Offensively, the Fiddlers started out fast and scored on their opening drive with a 5 yard TD run by RB Chris Torres, and QB Gunner Moore with the 2 point conversion. The offense continued to drive the field for much of the first half with excellent running from RB's Jose Perez and Larry Johnson. The Offensive Line led by Jordan Dworacyzk, Julio Cantu, Nicholas Brugger, Dillon Amejorado, and Mitchell Arlitt were key to the Fiddlers rushing success all night, as they would pound away for all 4 quarters on the Cade defense. Defensively, the Fiddlers played very well for much of the game as well including Multiple Sacks and Tackles for a Loss by OLB Joe Quintanilla and DL Mitchell Arlitt. The Secondary played very well also as Safeties Larry Johnson and Logan Evans helped recover multiple forced fumbles and bat away key passes to hold the Cade Offense from getting back in the game. Finally, in the 4th quarter with the game at 16-8, the Fiddler Offense would explode with 2 TD runs, a 55 yarder and 15 yarder by RB Jose Perez, and a 30 yard TD run by Larry Johnson to cap off a hard fought and sweet 30-8 victory for the Fiddlers! The Fiddlers are now 3-2 on the season and 3-1 in district play and will come out next week as they look for their 4th win on the year against rival Seadrift at Sandcrab Stadiumnext Tuesday at 5:00.
