TOURNAMENT HERE AT TRAVIS ON SATURDAY. BOTH TEAMS
WILL PLAY AT 10:00. PLEASE COME OUT AND SUPPORT THE LADY
On Saturday Oct. 11. the cross-country athletes ran in the Rockport meet. The 7th grade Lady Fiddlers came in 1st place. Results were as follows:
7th Grade vs Howell
The B team traveled to Victoria Tuesday night and played a hard fought defensive game. Key players on the defensive side of the ball were Sebastian Suarez, who made several tackles and a sack, Devin Potsom made several tackles, and Dekyn Garcia intercepted a toss and recovered a fumble and ran it in for the winning touchdown with a key block by Estebon Rodrigues, who also scored on a 2-pt conversion. On the offensive side of the ball Isaac Martinez, Connor Grantland, and Dekyn Garcia all had several good runs. The B team won 8-0 and are 3-0 this season.
The 7th grade A team played Howell Tuesday night and it was an exciting 16-16 tie. Defense played well with Adam Fox having several tackle for losses. Also playing well on defense was Isais Ybarra, Kade Kveton, Coewn Boern, and Trenton Stavinoah having several tackles. On the offensive side of the ball Connor Kestler had several good runs. Elijah Harvey had a 30 yard run along with several other good runs. Will Gruber had two runs on a reverse for over 30 yards each. Payton Salinas threw a 12 yard TD pass to Tori Love. Payton had another TD pass to Will Gruber for 30 yards. Both A and B team played their hearts out and will play againnext Tuesday here in Port Lavaca against Stroman starting at 5:30.
8th Grade vs Howell
The 8th grade B team hosted Howell at Sandcrab Stadiumon Tuesday evening. The game was a defensive struggle through much of the first half, but the fiddlers had the lead at halftime with a 2 yard TD run by QB Gunner Moore and the 2 point conversion by RB Chris Torres to make it 8-0. Defensively, the Fiddlers played very well for much of the game including Multiple Sacks and Tackles for a Loss by OLB Joe Quintanilla. Unfortunately, the Fiddlers struggled to maintain their lead and fell 14-6 to the Howell Wildcats. The Fiddlers are now 1-2 on the season and 1-1 in district play and will regroup and come out strong next week as they look for their 2nd win on the year against the Stroman Vipers at Pattie Welder Stadiumnext Tuesday at 5:30. Come on and support our Fiddler boys!

Defensively, the Fiddlers played very well for much of the game including Multiple Sacks and Tackles for a Loss by OLB James Grantland, DL Brandon Caldera, LB Sean Jackson, and OLB Reed Cantu. Unfortunately, the Fiddlers struggled to get back in the game in the 4th quarter even with a late TD by QB Andrew Ybarra. The final score was a hard fought 32-6 loss to the Howell Wildcats. The Fiddlers are now 1-2 on the season and 1-1 in district play and will regroup and come out strong next week as they look for their 2nd win on the year against the Stroman Vipers at Pattie Welder Stadium next Tuesday at 5:30. 8th Grade B
The 8th grade B team visited at Pattie Welder Stadium on Tuesday evening. The game started fast for the Fiddlers as RB Chris Torres put a TD and 2 point conversion in the end zone before half to make it 8-0 before halftime. Key receptions by WR Ezra Stellman and TE Mitchell Arlitt on the drive helped the Fiddlers convert for the TD. Defensively, the Fiddlers played very well for much of the game including Multiple Sacks and Tackles for a Loss by OLB Joe Quintanilla. A key Forced Fumble and Recovery by Christian Romero also helped keep score close and finally late in the 4th quarter, as the Stroman Vipers were driving for a game tying TD, DB Jose Munoz made a game-saving interception and the Fiddlers would go on to win 8-0. The Fiddlers are now 2-2 on the season and 2-1 in district play and will come out strong next week as they look for their 3rd win on the year against the Cade Bulldogs at Pattie Welder Stadium next Tuesday at 5:30. 8th Grade A
The 8th grade A team visited Stroman at Pattie Welder Stadium on Tuesday evening. The game was a hard fought battle from start to finish with the Stroman Vipers only leading 20-8 at half. Defensively, the Fiddlers played very well for much of the game including Multiple Sacks and Tackles for a Loss by DL Brandon Caldera and LB Sean Jackson. A key interception late in the 3rd quarter by DB Sergio Zavala off of a deflected pass by CB Dayton Asdahl would set the Fiddlers up on their 40 yd line, and QB Andrew Ybarra and RB Sean Jackson formed a nice 1-2 punch to put a TD and 2 point conversion in the end zone and make it 20-16 to start the 4th quarter. Unfortunately, turnovers in the 4th quarter would hurt the Fiddlers as they struggled to get back in the game and the final score was a hard fought 28-16 loss to the Stroman Vipers. The Fiddlers are now 1-3 on the season and 1-2 in district play and will regroup and come out strong next week as they look for their 2nd win on the year against the Cade Bulldogs at Pattie Welder Stadium next Tuesday at 7:30. 7th Grade A
The 7th grade A team played StromanTuesday night in their first home game of the season. They fought hard, overcame mistakes, and played their best game of the season, earning a 22-0 nothing victory to improve to 3-0-1 on the season. The fiddler A team was led by Cade Kveton who turned in his best performance of the season, running the ball hard, intercepting a pass on defense, recovering a fumble, and having several tackles for loss. Offensively the lineman played a great game clearing paths for our running backs and were led by the efforts of Rudy Loya and Cameron Karuso. Will Grubert scored his 4th touchdown of the year on a reverse, Joseph Bonuz had several good runs, scored a touchdown and had a great tackle on a long run by Stroman to preserve the shutout. Connor Kestler did a great job leading the fiddler offense at quarterback and converted 2 2 point conversions. Jaden Zambrano also had a touchdown and intercepted a pass on defense. The fiddler defense earned its first shutout of the season and was led by Coewin Boerm and Adam Fox who both had sacks and tackles for losses. Other contributors were Jaime Rios, Bradley Flores, Eric Tijerina and Ishmael Ysaguirre who all had 2 tackles for a loss. The boys will next face Cade at homenext Tuesday at 7:00. With a win the fiddlers can guarantee themselves at least a share of the district championship.
7th Grade B
The fiddlers faced HowellTuesday night in their first home game of the season. The boys played hard and fought like a team and came out with a thrilling 6-0 victory to improve to 4-0 on the season. The fiddlers were led by Steven Mcilwain who had 3 tackles for a loss and aided by Dekyn Garcia, Devin Podsom, Adrian Canchola, Sebastian Suarez and Oswaldo Herrera who all had 2 tackles for a loss. Eliah Munoz forced a fumble which was recovered by Gavin Vasquez to help seal another a third consecutive shutout and a great effort by the fiddler defense. The player of the game was Nick Riser who intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown with 10 seconds left in the game to give the fiddlers the victory. The boys will face Cadenext Tuesday at Sandcrab stadium at5:30and with a win will guarantee at least a share of the district championship.
