Welcome to the Texas Gulf Coast! Travis Middle School, home of the Fighting Fiddlers, is located in Port Lavaca off of State Highway 35 roughly half-way between Corpus Christi and Houston.  Travis MS is one of two middle schools in the Calhoun County Independent School District. It serves approximately 850 students in 6th through 8th grade with 80 staff members.

  • Travis Participates in Kids Helping Kids

      Travis Middle School participated in the “Kids Helping Kids Food Drive” to help the Community Ministries Food Pantry. CHS and JR also participated. Travis was the top participant with a grand total of 1929 items. The Travis Drive was led by Coach Garcia and Coach Searcy. Mrs. Kupcho assisted with the tallying of all the items.   • Travis Cross Country in Rockport

  • Travis Boys vs Howell

    7th Grade vs Howell B team The B team traveled to Victoria Tuesday night and played a hard fought defensive game.  Key players on the defensive side of the ball were Sebastian Suarez, who made several tackles and a sack, Devin Potsom made several tackles, and Dekyn Garcia intercepted a toss and recovered a fumble and ran it in for the winning touchdown with a key block by Estebon Rodrigues, who also scored on a 2-pt conversion.  On the offensive side of the ball Isaac Martinez, Connor Grantl…

  • Travis Begins School

    The first day of class is Monday, August 25. 6th graders report to the auditorium 7th & 8th graders report to the gym. The first bell rings at 7:45. School begins at 7:55   There will be Volleyball and Football practice after school on Monday.   Any 7th or 8th grader interested in Cross Country, needs to report to CHS on Wednesday Morning, Aug.27, at 6:30 in Gym 2.     Lady Fiddler Athletics All athletes must have a sports physical on file no later than Monday, August 25. Any athlete without a physical after Friday, August 29, will be scheduled to change into a PE class or other elective. Volleyball try-outs begin Monday, August 25 from 4-6 pm in Gym 2.
