The popular saying "I could have had a Falcon" came true for HJM on Friday. Sky Kings Falconry Service came to give a demonstration to the students of HJM. They brought falcons, owls, hawks and a vulture. All of these birds are trained for bird abatement. For example--If you had unwanted pigeons in your barn, the Sky Kings would bring an owl and lock it up in the barn for a couple of days. When the door is opened, the pigeons would fly away and not return. They were in Port Lavaca helping out King Fisher with seagull abatement. They released the hawks and falcons and the seagulls depart the area. They use the hawks, owls and falcons to scare away nuisance birds.
