Calhoun County Extension along with WatchUR BAC Alcohol will be putting on a informational meeting about alcohol and others drugs and how it affects them and their teen(s). We will provide parents with information on alcohol and its effects on the body, un-derage drinking laws as they pertain to their children, and social hosting laws as they pertain to them as parents. In addition, we aim to offer the latest trends in alcohol consumption and other drugs and some potential effects.

Calhoun High School will be having an assembly about Driving while intoxicated and the affects alcohol. A DWI (driving while in-toxicated) prevention simulator is used to demonstrate the effect of alcohol on driving skills. Through a video game atmosphere, driv-ers experience obstacles and hazards to simulate those that one might encounter if driving impaired. Fatal Vision© goggles, which distort vision, are worn by the driver during the simulation experi-ence to further duplicate the effect of alcohol on one’s vision. Will be at the Calhoun High school.
