Today at 3 p.m., the Point Comfort Police Department notified Calhoun County ISD that they are investigating a report of an adult stranger approaching a child Monday afternoon. The child is safe; however, police are investigating the report, and we wanted to share this with you.

As a precaution, Calhoun County ISD bus transportation though Point Comfort will be accompanied by a Calhoun County ISD Police Officer today.  Information will be shared today with Calhoun County families today on www.calcoisd.org and on the district’s social media pages. Letters will be sent home to parents on Wednesday.

Also, as a precaution, parents are encouraged to talk to their children about safety involving strangers. The National Crime Prevention Council web site is a good resource for teaching children about strangers: http://www.ncpc.org/topics/violent-crime-and-personal-safety/strangers

At Calhoun County ISD, the safety and security of our students, staff and community is always our highest concern.
