Child Nutrition Department offering free breakfast & lunch to students
Posted on 09/01/2017

Calhoun County ISD's Child Nutrition Department, and partner Sodexo, is pleased to offer breakfast and lunch at no cost to all students enrolled at CCISD schools during the month of September. The program begins for students when school begins (currently set for Sept. 6) and is scheduled to end on Sept. 30.  This special program is available to our students, thanks to the efforts of our Child Nutrition Department being able to submit a waiver with Texas Department of Agriculture, as Calhoun County is designated a Presidentially-declared disaster area.

Please note that breakfast will not be provided on the first day of school, set for Sept. 6, since the school start time has been delayed two hours. However, lunch will be available that day and both breakfast and lunch will be served as normal in the days to follow. Breakfast in the Classroom at HJM, JR, POC and Seadrift will begin on Sept. 7

It is very important that families understand that Household Meal Applications will still need to be turned in and submitted to the Child Nutrition Department, per the normal process.

A revised menu will be posted soon on the district website for the September 6 -8. The first week's menu has been revised to align with current food inventory and availability.

Calhoun County ISD's Child Nutrition Department has been working hard this week to get our school cafeterias ready for the new school year and start serving our wonderful students and faculty.

"We would like to send our thoughts are prayers out to our community and our neighbors," said Calhoun County ISD's Child Nutrition Director Nicole Nguyen. "We know this is a difficult time for many families and we are pleased to assist."

If you have any questions regarding any of this information or your student(s) meal account, please contact Nicole Nguyen via email at
