The Calhoun County ISD Board of Trustees voted last night to authorize Dr. Cowley, Superintendent of Schools, to request a waiver from the Texas Education Agency that would excuse the district for the nine school days (3,780 instructional minutes) that were missed while closed from August 28 – September 8 after Hurricane Harvey.

Because Calhoun County ISD is included in the area proclaimed as a disaster by the Governor’s office, the district is eligible to apply for the “Missed School Day Waiver” and students will not be required to make up missed time while the district was closed.

Therefore, the holidays and early releases originally identified in the Calhoun County ISD district calendar for the 2017-18 school year are confirmed as scheduled.
