April 1 update: School Board addresses GPA & class rank

The Calhoun County ISD School Board met Wednesday, April 1, and addressed the following:

  1. Acknowledged that Calhoun County ISD’s Remote Learning plan will continue to be in place through May 4, as recommended by Governor Abbott.
  2. Extended the Calhoun County ISD employee compensation structure during this period of Remote Learning & Working.
  3. Determined that GPA and Class Rank would be calculated using student academic performance prior to the Remote Learning format. This year, the honors of Valedictorian and Salutatorian shall be based on the on the grades available for the 3rd nine-weeks grading period. This grading period is the most recent final grading period before the district began remote instruction on March 30, 2020. The determination of class rank for 11th grade students shall also be based on the grades available for the 3rd nine-weeks grading period. 

The Board of Trustees thanked faculty and staff for their heroic efforts in implementing Remote Learning, sanitizing facilities, and providing meals for children.
